My blog about the flash cards for Nintendo DSi.
DSi is the updated version of NDS, that no longer has GBA slot, but instead got an SD card slot and 2 cameras + a built in memory.
Old DS Flash Cards are no longer compatible with the DSi as Nintendo has implemented some anti-piracy measures that were cracked in the first month after the release of the console. It remains to be seen if Nintendo will carry out a Firmware Updates vs. Hackers war like Sony does with frequent PSP updates or will they ignore the whole thing as they did before.

Latest DSi update includes an apparent web browser update, also blocks flash cards such as the AK2i, R4i, Iplayer, EZVi and SCDS1i and DSTTi (not sure yet about the M3i Zero).
The Supercard DS ONEi and M3i Zero are the only one today with their core firmware 100% updateble. Other DSi flash cards firmware can be updated only partially. We still don’t know for sure if it will be a problem or not…
If DSi owners who do not take this latest update are blocked from the DSi store 
Fine if you do not want to use the store, you don’t have to update ..bad news if you do then your flash cards not going to work, until new flash card software updates will ready.
UPDATE: R4i SDHC is now fully compatible with DSi firmware version 1.4 and all other DS / DS Lite versions.
I have a R4i revolution card that now doesn’t work after i foolishly did a system update on my dsi. Is there anything i can do to make my card compatible. Or do i have to buy another card from you?
Hi, check if there is an firmware update for your R4, probably not. The only tjing you can do is to get new flash cart. We have the lastest R4i RTS Platiunium, working very well on all DSi and fw 1.4.1 Or get an Acecard 2i or Supercard DS Two, M3i Zero or EZ Flash Vi, or iEdge, Cyclo DSi. All those carts are very good and updatable (more future proof than R4). Check our shop…
