Is the flashcard the only thing I have to buy to play Roms? Or do I need additional adapters or something?

I want to get a DSi Rom of mario rpg, but im new to this whole 'romming' business. Can you tell me the steps for downloading a rom, as well as all the necessary equipment i need to get to play Roms? Download from NDS-roms.com Get a DS R4i SDHC card adapter to play the rom on the DS or DSi. (You will also need to copy the NDS rom file to the SD card)
